Division Rostering: Divisions are determined by age. However, the Rostering Committee - made up of the registrar, board members and NCCP certified coaches - may be required to move players up or down a division in order to field a team in that division. In this case rosters will be determined 1) based on player safety; and, 2) based on player's ability to compete in the prospective division. Players and parents will be consulted first. The final decision will be made by the Rostering Committee in the best interest of all players and in adherence to BC Babe Ruth affiliation safety and development guidelines and insurance and liability guidelines.
Player Request: A player may also request to play down a division to accommodate their safety due to their ability/experience level. The Rostering Committee will consult with the other team members first to indicate that over-aged players have requested to play in the division. Parents will be given an opportunity to share their rational against accepting the player in written form to the Board within a set timeframe. The final decision will be made by the Rostering Committee in the best interest of all players based on parent feedback, and the safety and development of all players.
